Congressman Raúl Labrador, (ID-1)

Raul Labrador was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico in 1967, where he was raised by a single mother.  After High School, Raul attended college at Brigham Young University, and went on to get his J.D. from the University of Washington.  Prior to running for office, Labrador ran a small law practice in Idaho.  His political career began in 2006 when he was elected to the Idaho State Legislature representing western Ada County.  On May 25, 2010 Raul Labrador won an upset victory in a tight race for the 1st district of Idaho.  During his time on Capitol Hill Congressman Labrador has served on several committees including the Committee on Natural Resources, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the Subcommittee on National Security, Homeland Defense and Foreign Operations (Vice-Chairman), and the Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs, Stimulus Oversight and Government Spending.

He currently lives in Eagle, Idaho with his wife Rebecca and their five children.
