Hispanic Leadership Network Statement Regarding White House Latino Summit in Virginia

WASHINGTON – Hispanic Leadership Network Executive Director Jennifer S. Korn today released the following statement in regards to the White House Latino Summit to be held tomorrow, Saturday, June 9th, in Virginia.

“No dog-and-pony show will make up for the fact that nearly 23 million Americans are unemployed, underemployed, or have simply given up looking for work. Last Friday’s jobs report is proof positive of the Obama Administration’s failed economic policies. Sadly, Hispanics know this all too well. With an unemployment rate of 11% and a staggering 30% unemployment for young Hispanics, it is increasingly clear that we need new leadership in the White House.

“Americans deserve a president that knows how to create jobs; a leader who will allow workers to keep more of their hard-earned money by cutting taxes; a leader who will empower small-business owners by putting a cap on unnecessary and costly regulations, and one who will expand our sources for energy development.”
